If those don't work, then keep using /this/ sort of stuff because it's apparently all you get.
Mediocre_Scrublord: unfortunately, using slashes like /this/ always, at least to me, adds a little /too/ much emphasis, as if you're stretching the main syllable and slowly moving your open hands outwards like you're squeezing the word out and scrunching your face up a little.
Still a viable backup italic, anyway.
