AMKitsune: Panel 1: D'awww, how sweet
Panel 2: ...er hang on, where's this going?
Panel 3: YOU SADISTIC BASTARD! I HOPE YOU SUFFER IN THE FIRES OF ALCOHOL INDUCED CAT PUNS!
ThatGuyWithAKhajiitWaifu: She'd have to eat like 20 of them to even get close, as they actually alcohol content of these are like almost nothing. Besides, whiskey bonbons taste really bad, if you ever had them before. :v
Armored-Struggle-Wagon: @Timothamine: I disagree, the arms are perfectly positioned! I very much like this work, Great job! and I hope to see more of your art here!
MetalC0Mmander: Now that I think about it I don't remember if it's ever stated she gets drunk with very little alcohol or if they simply skipped past the most humiliating part as she decided to drink too much.
ThatGuyWithAKhajiitWaifu: @MetalC0Mmander: Sorry, they are just nasty. Also, she is a very light weight I think. Even then though, she'd eat her self sick before she even got a buzz off of them.
TemporaryFace: @MetalC0Mmander: She blacked out and ended up banging a necromancer the last time she took a sip from the shards of a broken wine bottle.
Tahrey: Also I think it's more that once she starts drinking, there's no end to it until she actually passes out. And the amount consumed leads to memory loss.
Certainly in Quill's side story, she seemed to have got a bottle of wine from somewhere, when originally she started with a mug of mead.
Timothamine: Yeah, seriously, whisky bonbons probably include VERY little alchohol and a lot of syrup. But this idea kicked me in the head for like 1 month now and had to print it out.
Tahrey: TF: Even a tiny amount of alcohol can be a bad thing for (literal) alcoholics, it can set them off on a booze quest. Just because she has no memory of what happened after drinking the remains of that wine (which could be very old and may have fermented/aged into something much stronger than the usual, anyway) doesn't mean it was that one glass'-worth that caused the blackout. Any more than it was the first beer I had at the start of the bare couple nights where I've got genuine blackspots that caused them; more that plus all the other drinks up until and then way past the point where short-term memory stopped being committed to long-term.
Though it's a good thing really given some of the things that allegedly happened. Usually involving projectile vomit and people becoming very upset.
Bear in mind she's not really that far out of Anvil when this happened, maybe a couple hours, and she was probably going to have to turn back anyhow. She takes a sip of that wine, collects as much of the remnants as possible into the last working bit of bottle, and sips on that as she walks back. And then things progress much the same way they did the first night, except now she's got clothes and things she can sell to finance the rest of the binge, and also an enabler in the form of Dmitri. QW presumably wasn't out that night otherwise she may have done something to stop her.
Tahrey: (Case in point, some cough medicine I took at the weekend had a warning on it that a standard dose - two teaspoons - contained something like 0.3ml of alcohol, "equivalent to 5ml of beer or 2ml of wine", and that it may therefore "be harmful for alcoholics".
Yes, the equivalent of a single teaspoon of beer. Taking a regular dose of this much-diluted tincture, about a third of a shot, and itself half the strength of a typical ale, would still be enough to potentially cause harm, either to their liver or psychologically by triggering the parts of their brain that were addictively habituated to ethanol.
