Sybracus: @Enheldor: Not all fur helps to insulate from the cold. Cold-climate species have a thicker coat of smaller down hairs underneath the longer coat of guard hairs, and sometimes have a third coat of medium awn hairs between the two. Species from hotter climates, like Khajiit, may have thinner or nonexistant down hair, leaving them vulnerable to the cold. It's like how our own hair is useful for keeping our scalp from getting sunburned, but is utter $#!? at insulating our heads from freezing temperatures.
