Bill: One last thing before I color it. Should I use sharpies, colored pencils, colored pencils with some pastels painted over, pastels, or acrylic paint. I am very inexperienced with the proper use of each method.
AMKitsune: @Bill: If you're unsure which will work best for you, why not try them all? Try drawing some random shapes on another piece of paper and filling them in with the different mediums. That way you can go into the colouring stage knowing which method you prefer/works best for you.
Bill: @Doomguy just practice to an extent of at least 1 sketch a day until you feel confident in a way of drawing from a certain angle. Then try the other angle until you feel confident in that too. Then do other features like detailed clothing and color. Lastly probably work on shading and background work.
