Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Arcsome: Only slightly, but yeah my sketchbook was too big.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Aaaand, there. It now has color. I scanned it this time too. Yaaay.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Armored-Struggle-Wagon: I'm going to feel like an idiot for this, but could you elaborate on that a bit? Like where do I put the link? What if I'm uploading right from my iPad and there is no link?

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: So how do I replace this picture with an updated version?

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: So... Coloring has commenced. Initial results are...... Unclear. I really have to learn to use this inkbrush better. I'm not sure if it's bad or just not going my way.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Tahrey: Well, my problem with color is more about color choice. I'm terrible at choosing colors, but when the colors are not decided by myself I usually do fine. And I have actually used Pokemon Art Academy quite a bit, so I've done some other digital stuff before.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: I'll get to work coloring it as soon as I get home from school today guys.@Tahrey: That, as far as I can tell, is pretty much how watercolor pencils work, but one of the cases I got apparently has three different kinds of watercolor pencil that apparently have different properties. And I probably shouldn't have drawn Asriel. As that's probably some major spoilers. He's just lne of my favorite characters.
@POMA: Heh, nice. If I screw up the official coloring, at least we have this.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @angrybacteria: Not my sister. She somehow know exactly what to do, despite not having any background knowledge about the game.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: That's the idea. Though the ink brush seems to require an amount of prescision that is difficult for me to achive, though not impossible. I've actually been working on something pretty big in full color and done digitally, though I admit it's taking much longer than I was thinking it would. It's been an on and off project lately.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @AMKitsune: I honestly think the thing I need to improve most on is coloe and effects. I find that a lot of the artists I aspire to have a way with color that simply eludes my understanding. It's part of the reason my work thus far has been monochromatic. Thank you for the offer to help.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: For Christmas, I got 3 things I consider to be noteworthy. A new leather jacket, a fuckton of watercolor pencils and other art equipment, and Undertale. I figured everyone else seems to be doing undertale crossovers, and now that I'm obsessed with the game, I decided this would be a good way to feed my obsession, get some more art on here, mand test my new artstuffs at the same time. Except I've never used watercolor pencils before... Or and ink brush. So I'm posting this now for when I inevitably fuck it up later.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: I really should step up my digital art game, because once I'm on a computer I have no clue what I'm doing. maybe I should get lessons or something. Anyways, I might have to jump on this bandwagon at some point now that I'm totally obsessed with this game.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @CaptainLackwit: I belive it's acctually holly

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @ThatGuyWithAKhajiitWaifu: I think I'll have to second this statement

Strawberry-Jamasaur: Little did the teminator know that Katia had backup. GO MAGAMAN! NOW YOU HAVE IS POWER!

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: So if you don't mind my asking, how do you get the straight lines and clean curves? I'm kinda new to digital art and the information would be really helpful for the project I'm working on right now.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Arcsome: @Arcsome: Also, it was during the last 4 years of high school that my art really started taking off. My biggest advancements have happened within the last two years, between sophmore and junior year, so I encourage you guys to keep working at it.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Arcsome: I'm hoping to become an animator and/or illustrator. I feel like I've got a bit of natural skill in animation. Maybe I'll make my own webcomic some day, who knows.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Arcsome: I'm actually a senior, so I won't be in high school for much longer. Just in case that changes your definition of young people.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: HUGE TEXT WALL WARNING

@ThatGuyWithAKhajiitWaifu: I do think she would keep things interesting for the doctor if nothing else.@Armored-Struggle-Wagon: Nah, she isn't the doctor. I was actually originally going to as Asotil as the fill in for the doctor, but didn't know where to put him. And as far as artwork, Yours is good too. I enjoy your Schwarzeneger cross overs and mega man figures. I was originally going to attempt to make the daleks look more like dwarven machines because of that one terminator post you made, but I would need more reference pictures and time to create the design. The big thing to look into, at least in my opinion, is muscle structure, as that is mostly what determines the overall shape of the figure(honestly the female figure is something I've only started to really draw recently, so it's good to know I have the hips down). It's good to know that there are people who enjoy my artwork. I've been taking most of it so seriously as I'm hoping to get into an art institute once I graduate high school.@Tahrey: Yeah, this is not the best photo I've ever taken, but I must have tried about 15 times. My old Ipad doesn't have the best camera.@BadReligion: Actually, I have noticed this pattern. Totally unintentional. I'll try and avoid it next time, but she does seem prone to getting into these kinds of situations.@AMKitsune: I actually have a scanner, the problem is I tend to finish these pictures pretty late at night. This one was finished and posted at 4AM this morning if I remember correctly(I've been going on an hour of sleep all day). It shouldn't be a problem with the next one I plan to upload, though, since I'm planning on doing it all digitally.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: Been seeing a few crossovers here, decided to make one of my own. It doesn't come across as well in this photo though.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @FistHombre: Well if dynamic poses is what you're looking for, google images has no shortage of good reference images.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: Yeah, the shape method is what I used to find my style. Mow I use the same idea in a different way, but it's still the same idea at the base. One last thing I can say from experience is, the less you try the better the outcome usually is. It's strange, but it usually ends up being true, at least for me. When you start, don't worry about making straight clean lines. Be loose, scribble, just get a basic idea down. If you're using pencil then you can refine it all later. Shading is something that takes some experimenting, definately something I have to work on, especially from different light angles. There's a lot of good advice in this comment section. Know that we are all behind you in your art-making endeavors.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: Why do I feel like I've been there before? (COUGHANIGHTTOREMEMBERCOUGH)

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: If you're learning to draw' the only good advice I can give is to just keep drawing and do it often. You have to kind of get a feel for it. Look at other peoples art and observe the figure. Always look for ways to improve, the little things that are easy to implement. It'll be slow, nut worth it in the long run. Drawing from observation might also help, though it's an idea I'm still getting used to myself.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Tahrey: No, the two picrures are unrelated. And as I mentioned before, the moth priests are blind. In the mission a meeting is set up for a famous scholar to read an elder scroll. You go and take the scroll instead. Though I do like that idea.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: OH MAN, You know what would be hilarious? If reading an elder scroll, which usually makes you go blind, counteracts the blindness effect of the cloak of gray tomorrows. I know it makes no sense, but elder scrolls are strange things that don't follow the normal rules of time and space. Do you think elder scrolls come in nightwriting?

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @AMKitsune: @Ja_Jarsha_Rovandi: Ja is correct in that, if you can find the arrow, it can be recovered, with the drawback that you would then be unable to remove it from your inventory. HOWEVER, this was never going to be game-lore accurate because I wanted the equipment to add the context associated. The original plan for this drawing was that Katia was in the Hall of Epochs, drawing the arrow in the bow, but in that plan she already had the scroll and was being chased by guards. I felt that would be too similar to my other contest entry(also I failed to sufficiently draw it, like, 5times), so I went with this, which is a better choice for the contest in my opinion. So you're right, but I already know. In fact there are a few points I've been expecting to get nitpicked, like the fact that the elder scroll she's being given is modeled after the one from Skyrim, not Oblivion

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Nyflex: @Tahrey: It takes the context of the final Thieves Guild mission in Oblivion, "The Ultimate Heist", in which you break into the Imperial Palace and steal an elder scroll from the blind moth priests. The thing I love about this particular mission and why I thought it would be a good submission to the contest is because a lot of the previous TG quests are preparing you for this mission, so it feels good when you see all your hard thieving work pay off, and plus I thought it would give a lot of implied context to the image, though it took me all of an hour after posting it to realize how stupid that reasoning was

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Tahrey: IT's regular sketching paper, it's got the yellowish tinge due to the light I was using at the time and the camera on my ipad.@Armored-Struggle-Wagon: You know what? A shirt can be bought, but compliments like that are earned,, and are a much more valuable prize. Once again, thank you very much.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: It got mentioned though, which is good. I actually agree with the choice of the other pursuit pic over mine. It does tell more of a story because it gave more context. There were a lot of good entries so it was all up in the air. I guess I'll just have to buy the shirt. But thank you, it means a lot to me.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: I don't know if there's enough story to win the contest, but this is definitely one of my favorite entries.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Well I find this image to be thouroughly enjoyable. The lighting and color palette is good, the monochromatic background helps emphasize the colored parts. Well drawn and well executed. some of the perspective lines are a bit off, though, particularly those in and around the base of the varla pillar.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Olaffson: @Tahrey:
It was my original plan to scan it into photoshop to ink and color it, I was just short on time. Well that and the fact that the good computer was occupied and the scanner was on a totally different floor and all I had was my hand-me-down piece of crap laptop. I'll try to get around to that soon.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Olaffson: Also I tried to tag myself as the artist but it didn't work.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Olaffson: Thank you! well I have a DeviantArt and a Tumblr account, but I have nothing posted, like, literally nothing, so they wouldn't do you much good right now.
@Arcsome: I made that chair accurate to the one in the game and if you look it up, there's a space in the back of the chair that she could tick her tail through.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Salamanakis: And he is, of course, talking about the mudcrab.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: What's up with the superglue tag? I mean, I'm leaving it because it's a fucking superglue tag, but why?

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Number 2. It's not as good as the other one, but then again, I guess that doesn't matter for the contest. This was the best I could do in the 4 hours I had to work with. I was hoping to get the boots of Springheel Jak in here, but I think you guys get the idea.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Wow. I honestly didn't expect this to get this much attention. Thanks everyone. i'll see if I can get another one finished in time for the contest. @Ransom- You got it. We also shouldn't leave out the ruins collapsing around them. I'm glad you saw the jewel, I was afraid you guys would miss it.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: So here's one. I'm still hoping to make a few more.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Ja_Jarsha_Rovandi: I guess we're all excited to talk about a great expansion. It's understandable. But in all honesty, it's the internet. These kinds of things happen.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: NO it's from Shivering Isles. You have to jure adventurers into this ancient ruin and make them go insane, thus gaining them citizenship in sheogorath's realm.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Well now that you say it I know what it is. You should probably make the context a bit more obvious.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Well.I have 9 ideas, a very uncooperative tablet, and two days. Hopefully I can do something.
