Strawberry-Jamasaur: For Christmas, I got 3 things I consider to be noteworthy. A new leather jacket, a fuckton of watercolor pencils and other art equipment, and Undertale. I figured everyone else seems to be doing undertale crossovers, and now that I'm obsessed with the game, I decided this would be a good way to feed my obsession, get some more art on here, mand test my new artstuffs at the same time. Except I've never used watercolor pencils before... Or and ink brush. So I'm posting this now for when I inevitably fuck it up later.

AMKitsune: Water colour pencils? Does that mean we might be seeing some colour at some point in the future? I certainly hope so :D
Also, I had one of those ink brush/pen things once (I still do, but god only knows where it ended up), fantastically fun things to work with. Take good care of it and it should serve you well.

Thebaconator3: Like AMK I really look forward to seeing this with color.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: That's the idea. Though the ink brush seems to require an amount of prescision that is difficult for me to achive, though not impossible. I've actually been working on something pretty big in full color and done digitally, though I admit it's taking much longer than I was thinking it would. It's been an on and off project lately.

Thebaconator3: @Strawberry-Jamasaur: Yeah the same thing is true for most of my projects art, programs, or other wise.

Tahrey: OK, I see Undertaling, I see pencils... WHERE'S THE JACKET, SJ? AND THE COLOUR?

j/k this is once again amazeballs even with those outfits and in monochrome.
Enjoy the fuckton of supplies and don't feel you have to waste them here. Make some shit you can sell and get rich off :D

(wait ... watercolour pencils? even though I don't art worth a damn, I may have to stop in a stationers on the way home and look for some of those, if they work the way I think (lightly colour in an area then play a wet brush over it?), just for the dopey adult colouring books I got bought, which have a mix of small features that are suitable for fineliner pens, and huge ones that look rubbish if left blank but would ruin the pens...)

Tahrey: Also, apparently the key to Gittin' Gud with brushes is just a hell of a lot of practice. That and holding them like a pen/pencil (ie a couple fingertips, not palm or all fingers) but a surprisingly long way up the stem...

POMA: That was not a waste. Except that you stopped short and didn't colour in the lightning ;)
(The grey background really makes those just-off-primary 8-bit colours pop out though, so that can stay...)

I'm sick of crossovers with this ...what is this? hippo?

I don't think we can make fair judgement until you show us your own "shit" (figurative, not literal)

Also, Toriel (who I think is meant to be some kind of goat-creature?) has featured in, like, three pictures on the entire booru so far. Maybe quite a few more outside of here, but Undertale is the New Hotness right now so there'll be a flurry of art to do with it, much like there was with Cave Story, and various other such games down the last few years. Sit it out, you'll be OK.

I mean, you're bothered by that, whilst I'm over here in a foetal position, clutching my knees and rocking gently, still desperately waiting for the day when the unrelenting Pony onslaught will end.

Tahrey: Asriel. Whatever. I guess there were two of them? They're the same species anyway, as far as I can tell.

- Reply
CaptainLackwit: This is awesome, and so is the colored version.

Great stuff here, guys.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: I'll get to work coloring it as soon as I get home from school today guys.@Tahrey: That, as far as I can tell, is pretty much how watercolor pencils work, but one of the cases I got apparently has three different kinds of watercolor pencil that apparently have different properties. And I probably shouldn't have drawn Asriel. As that's probably some major spoilers. He's just lne of my favorite characters.
@POMA: Heh, nice. If I screw up the official coloring, at least we have this.

Strawberry-Jamasaur: So... Coloring has commenced. Initial results are...... Unclear. I really have to learn to use this inkbrush better. I'm not sure if it's bad or just not going my way.

- Reply
Olaffson: @Strawberry-Jamasaur: I wouldn't worry much about the very first results, that stuff takes ages to practice! ^^ I'm sure it will be amazing though.

Tahrey: BR: It will end. It MUST end ... eventually.

Maybe neither you nor I will see that day, but it will come.

SJ: Just play around, don't try to make a masterwork immediately, just make some abstract shit and work out how the new tools work :)

Strawberry-Jamasaur: So how do I replace this picture with an updated version?

- Reply
Armored-Struggle-Wagon: @Strawberry-Jamasaur: paste a link, and a moderator/admin will do so! (through magic.)

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Armored-Struggle-Wagon: I'm going to feel like an idiot for this, but could you elaborate on that a bit? Like where do I put the link? What if I'm uploading right from my iPad and there is no link?

- Reply
Armored-Struggle-Wagon: @Strawberry-Jamasaur: meh, just upload it, to the booru, somebody will come along and correct the pic.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: Aaaand, there. It now has color. I scanned it this time too. Yaaay.

- Reply
Tahrey: oh ... i thought you had used a phonecam or something. Either the paper curled up some in the corners, or your scanner seems to have some focus issues :/

- Reply
Arcsome: @Tahrey: I think the convince he used was to big for the scanner.

- Reply
Strawberry-Jamasaur: @Arcsome: Only slightly, but yeah my sketchbook was too big.

Tahrey: Might be possible to do it in two overlapping pieces (may have for rotate 180 degrees in between) then use a panorama stitcher?
