Jadezzar: Jad's childhood would be somewhat mixed. Aside from assisting his parents, he also often scouted the way, act as guard, fought for live, hunts...all nearly without permanent residence. At least when they're in Elsewyr, their home happens to be in a complex where some nobles live, partly because they (Jad family) are still related to a minor Khajiit noble house.
Jadezzar: @DOOMGUY11: That's his pre-mercenary days. He learns alot, from age 7 to 17. When he's 18, with his parents half heartedly approval (he's still their son, and the oldest one), he became a mercenary.

Jadezzar: @Toryu-Mau: He definitely isn't a bitter guy. Cautious and also a bit rough, but actually very decent, for a mercenary. There are lines he definitely won't cross. And he's also quite polite and nice too (especially toward Kat, since he feels bad about her, and, other reasons too).
