GrizzlyBear: There was an ancient Egyptian themed fanart trend awhile back I was too slow to participate in, so this sat half finished for about a year. Couldn’t let all that effort to go to waste
GrizzlyBear: This isn’t a knock against this at all cuz I like it, but imo the emotions don’t quite match. Looks like you took the shape of the eyelid and applied it to her eyebrow, giving it a whole different expression. To me, yours seems more alert, nervous, and slightly annoyed, while the original just looks tired and gloomy. Not saying one is better than the other, they just have different vibes
GrizzlyBear: @TempIntel: I actually found it within the comic itself. It was a command that appeared here

I’m willing to bet it’s the very earliest prequel fanart with real effort put into it
GrizzlyBear: After a few warmups you get pretty adjusted to it. The real challenge was the time limit. You can tell I had seconds left when I got to the feet
GrizzlyBear: Thanks! To be fair though it was after about a dozen retries cuz I wanted it to look at least somewhat nice. Was surprised she looked so huggable when I took the blindfold off.
The one on the right would probably steal your kidneys
GrizzlyBear: Woah you’re probably right. I always wondered who those silhouettes were and nobody ever seems to talk about them, the hair definitely matches. And I can’t believe I didn’t notice the “very hush-hush” meeting she described, pretty much a dead giveaway. I must’ve skimmed these parts
GrizzlyBear: I haven’t noticed AI art being a problem here so far, unless this whole time mods have been holding back a flood of AI spam. Regardless I think AI art is bad for the booru and bad for the soul. I will say it makes a damn cute Katia, but it’s disturbing to be able to produce something like this on demand, and post it alongside human creations. It diminishes the accomplishments of the talented artists here as something now redundant and automated, but it’s not art if it’s not human. So I say keep it off the booru

GrizzlyBear: @vsauce4: No no, I only mentioned it because you said it was your first time drawing Quill, so it felt appropriate to give some feedback. It’s nothing to stress over
GrizzlyBear: I would say Quill has a very human shaped head here, should be more long and pointed. Her eyes more slanted and to the sides rather than round and forward facing like a human. And her fin things appear to stick outwardly too much, though everybody does them differently, generally they point more backwards than to the sides
And I think Katia needs to lay off the tree punching
GrizzlyBear: I thought it was only one guy. Situation must’ve been a lot worse that what people had described to me. I personally thought the daily katias were perfectly fine
GrizzlyBear: TwistComet. He didn’t meet that goal, but still a good effort.

@bluedraggy: Kickass job with the rendering here. The coloring on these really do them justice

One guy tried to draw katia every day for a whole year and nobody was bothered by it
