Radiocaster: I swear I'm going to draw that rock getting struck by lightning or destroyed by an industrial digger or ticketed for bouldering in a no-rock zone
Radiocaster: Ah well, no more fire stick. Just when I started getting good at drawing it too!
The animations were very ambitious this time around, except for the last two which were honestly very low priority. I think the hardest (and most satisfying) one was the bottle spinning, though the control panel was the most time-consuming. The next page will probably be less complicated just to spare my poor hands.
I've been listening to a lot of music from Hexen II recently. It's the kind of music I would usually listen to while reading webcomics, so it's kinda funny to listen to it while drawing webcomics.
As always, feel free to leave commands in the comments.
Radiocaster: Just a doodle as a break from the comic. I've been listening to Viva La Vida a lot and it made me think of the count from Kvatch who had like, one joke scene in a flash game lol. I drew Rajirra too since I don't think most people are going to remember Count Goldwine. She makes a good barbarian though. Maybe he's found an heir after all.
So this will go on for longer than I thought because I've been having a lot of fun making it. I'm also still taking commands and I may use old ones too, don't worry.
This 'update' originally started out like the one before it as all one GIF. Eventually the scope of what I wanted to do with the animations grew way too large to keep it all on the same timer, so I'll now be splitting them up into one GIF per panel. They'll be a little awkward to read (remember that you can click on them to make them bigger!) since I have to cram most of the panels in the comment section. The source leads to the Newgrounds upload which might be easier to read. If anyone has any suggestions for a place to put this comic to make it more accessible I'm all ears.
Fun fact, the "dragonbreak protocol" was originally gonna be part of a dropped plot about Katia meeting an alternate universe, irrationally angry version of herself and then they would all go out and play bowling or something. I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me either. She was also going to keep a diary, since I also considered making more self-contained stories and it would have made a convenient way to group them together, but we'll just pretend that didn't happen since I accidentally made something too interesting not to follow up on.
Living in fear, living afraid, hysterical every day; all because I let your poison paralyze me.
Radiocaster:
Katia hides her fear by being caught in the moment, impressing her magic prowess on those who look on. Quill-Weave hides her fear with her expert poker face and steel-forged responsibility. They thing they're scared of is eachother, by the way.
For some reason I keep thinking of evil Quill-Weave as being like Willy Wonka, but instead of making chocolate, she makes laminated pineapple carcass "Along came a spider that sat down beside her and said 'What's in the bowl, bitch?'"
Radiocaster: FP hasn't been active here since 2019. Wouldn't surprise me if they don't even know about it. I think community opinion is important too in this case; don't think I need to reiterate how I feel about it, anyway.
Radiocaster: @plum: There sure is a lot of unexplainable artifacts, and the fact that it's been bitcrushed to cairn and back, has some pretty nonsensical anatomy in places (don't remember Katia's rear being a wedge, nor do I remember the arc where she lost a finger on her left hand), and that there's no source or even an artist tag, AND that the uploader has never uploaded something of this quality... You've a point, something isn't adding up here.
Radiocaster: @Jig_Bigga: You can just send a report on your own image containing a link to the replacement. I did it for my shipping piece when I misspelled Scribonia's name.
Radiocaster: A followup to that stupid gun picture I made. I played around with stuff affecting/leaving the frame since I thought it'd be funny. Fun fact: The font used in Prequel is Verdana, took me an embarrasingly long time to figure that out. I also never knew how important GIF optimization is, up until now I've just been getting away with storing whole frames. I guess this counts as graphic violence? It's cartoonish enough that I think I can get away with it :P. I might actually continue this if people want me to, but that might not be for a while.
Radiocaster: You know your crush likes you back when she plays love songs that don't exist yet on a novelty instrument she found at the thrift store.
I decided there's not enough sappy Katia/Quill art. Never one to let such an ardent sin go uncorrected; I am here to rectify this rare romantic riddle. The song Katia is singing is Liz Phair's Soberish. Also also, Scribonia gets one quest in the entire game and it's about matchmaking, so I bet she'd be cool with it. Also just wanted an excuse to draw her as the vault mascot. I wasn't sure whether to leave out the fallout tag since it's such a small part of the image; thank you to whoever diligently edits the tags when I forget who that guy from the mage's guild was called or that there was even a tag for "mage hands" of all things.
Radiocaster: Katia and Quill were tasked to find blueprints for some outlaw scientist chap. Getting hired by Sublight was the perfect disguise, but of course things went wrong. Will the unlikely heroes make it out in one piece? Either way, getting attacked by a space monster that looks uncomfortably similar to the machinations of your own nightmares isn't a fun way to spend a Fredas.
Whoo boy, that got darker than I expected. I promise my next upload will be more lighthearted. I both like and dislike working in a small resolution; if I ever make a longer fan comic I'll probably make it a bit bigger. Inspired by The Outer Worlds (and Lethal Company to a much lesser extent) Yes I'm a fan of The Stupendium, how did you know?
Radiocaster: @TheGibusGuy: It's supposed to be the eyelash? Eye shadow? Well whatever it is, I forgot to fill it in and was too lazy to go back and fix it. If it was a more serious piece I'd have probably redrawn a lot of things lol.
Radiocaster: okay that should be good enough, someone asked me to draw Katia finding an AKM and a "shit-ton of chinese surplus ammo". I'll have something more serious tomorrow.
Radiocaster: @ADudeCalledLeo: I also didn't play Oblivion until this year, so I wouldn't have known it just from playing the game either. If I had than there's no way I could've forgotten since I mouse over nearly everybody's house in a town when all I'm trying to find is the Mage's Guild lol
