It also requires hand-operation every 10 minutes to allow for the tank water to be replaced. It might sound useless, and that's because it is! Based on a dumb in-joke.

Radiocaster: The page was named such because it's what caffeine does, and because Sigrid is acting scatterbrained. I had to resist the temptation to intentionally place Katia's eyes too far apart on panel 3. You can argue that vacuum/siphon brewers are too modern for the setting, but considering that brewing is adjacent to alchemy, the concept isn't that complicated, and that it hardly looks out of place alongside other alchemy equipment, I thought it was a good choice. How could you spend all day surrounded by boiling glassware and not observe that steam rises and pushes water around?
