I'd be interested to see whether one could extrapolate another's gender from whether they get the joke or not; being female certainly would make understanding a smidgen more difficult, but it wouldn't bias the results indisputably one way or the other.
I bet you could whip some piece of code out to extrapolate likely gender-alignments from multiple instances like this, I wonder how much time that would take...
