AMKitsune: How in gods name can you make a character look so adorably cute and epicly badass at the same time?
What you've achieved shouldn't be logicically possible. Yet here it is.

If you don't mind, I'd like to have a go at doing a little work on this. Cleaning up the lines and such.

Skoon: Oh awesome.

- Reply
AMKitsune: @OrsaTheSimurgh: Well, I tried but I couldn't come up with anything that could compare with your original (without deviating far from your original style, which I'd rather not do). Oh well, I gave it a go and leaned something new in the process. Turns out that the sketchy lines are an important part of the overall style in this case.

- Reply
Skoon: @AMKitsune: In my years as an artist I have found that often a sketch appeals to the eye moreso than rigid inked lines.

The flowing and messy nature of a sketch tricks the brain into perceiving depth, texture and motion.

With finished pieces the lines are far trickier to deal with. Line thickness and junction are very important; stylized images aside.

Then you have painters... man, painters. No idea how they do the thing.

I completely forgot that Katia's adventuring outfit was a thing and/or forgot what it looked like. This isn't that.
I shoulda probably used a different outfit

GreyAcumen: No one ever said that the Cloak of Gray Tomorrow was actually gray. It's just a little innocuous is all. Though simple in design, the eye holes are conveniently sized for khajit ears to fit through when not active, but more importantly, the eye on the clasp provides a much needed visual (and tactile; important for the invisible) indicator for when time is about to run out.

CaptainLackwit: Not bad dude. You put a lot of thought into it.

Nefel: I'm sorry I can't get over the fact that your name is "grey" but you spell it "gray" in your comment.

I know it's spelled gray in the comic but it still hurts my brain

- Reply
GreyAcumen: @Nefel: The way I view it, Grey is the name, that can also reer to the color, and the other is a color that also is sometimes used as a name. Also, I imagine grey to be a lighter shade and gray to be a darker shade. I know it really has more to do with American vs British spelling, but that's still the way I view it.

AMKitsune: I love how these look like sets of mages robes that have been altered for a hardcore adventurer/traveller. It could also fit the Prequel art style very nicely to.
- Reply
NeuroticNyx: Haha, thanks! ^_^ This was heavily inspired by a friend's design for her own character, and hers was always designed to be heavily practical and functional, but kept a robe aesthetic.

So yeah, most definitely designed with the hardcore adventurer and/or traveler in mind. :P
