Zargothrax: The Devil symbolizes loss of control over our lives because of things that are generally internal. Usually this means addiction, but can also mean hopelessness, depression and being victimized by things beyond your control. This is my collaboration entry for >>7720
I wanted a painting that captures Katia’s desperate attempt to hide from the King in alcohol/drinking, hence why she is in a chalice.
The other thing I wanted to capture is that by getting her hands on alcohol, alcohol had its hands on her. That is why I made the wine form hands, attempting to take a hold of her.
Now she’s trapped between the ever looming presence of the King, and the ever present “solution” to her problem, that is growing up to be an even bigger problem than what it was meant to solve, but equally difficult to get away from.
Lastly, I intentionally wanted to make Katia’s surroundings detailed and overwhelming, while keeping her relatively simple, to give the impression of an innocent little kitten thrust into a world that is cruel and complicated.
Zargothrax: Lovely! Well, as far as that term goes in regards to Rajirra, but great painting nonetheless. I've just noticed how the back light slightly goes through the ear, gaining a red tint, very nice! Seen that on my own cat too, their ears really are thin.
And welcome, to the booru!
Zargothrax: Dem tags tho. Note the warning message if you click on the (1) next to the tags.
I'd recommend using tags that can be expected to be used for searches in the context of the website the art is posted onto (in this case the booru).
You wouldn't expect Prequel fans to specifically look for images containing M113. Therefore tags regarding firearms are a lot more inexact here. In fact, there's only one: "firearms". There is also "modern_clothing". https://www.prequeladventure.com/fanartbooru/tags But oddly enough I cannot see any tag for a modern setting. Riddle me this, Prequel community!
Zargothrax: Nice to see, you're still active on the booru!
Took me a while to figure out why "Katia´s wizard robe" has only 2 results on the site.
It's "Katia's wizard robe", not "Katia’s wizard robe". Still can't see the difference? I don't blame you. It's the apostrophe. ' vs ’. A bit funny, if you ask me.
Zargothrax: Wow, you actually posted it! I thought this one would carefully stay off-booru.
I'm not trying to play goal-keeper here just noticing some... tendencies.
Zargothrax: @nat: Nice drawing!
As for anything canonical on the matter, Katia once said (maybe in excelsior?) that she's never seen an other cat-like khajiit before. But I don't recall her ever saying anything about siblings...
Zargothrax: She's either drunk again, or acquired some chameleon skills here. And a cursor on the hand.
Wait, you just drew one half of her, then mirrored that vertically, didn't you? No wonder she ended up cross-eyed
Zargothrax: This is a pretty great and unique looking Quill, I like it!
I suspect, the artist put quite the amount of work into it, pushing the boundaries of their capabilities. Admirable, and I've got to say, it payed off!
Zargothrax: Updated the tags.
@bluedraggy: Now that's something that I'd like to see, thanks for putting such effort into the technical details of this!
Zargothrax: I've just noticed that she leans so far to the left side of the image, that everything that makes this questionable is still visible on the thumbnail, because the censoring pineapple only covers the middle.
I've outsmarted the censorship.
Zargothrax: My entry for Bluedraggy's pinup calendar collaboration (month: January). (In jpg, as the png version exceeds the file upload size limit of the booru)
The idea was a Maine Coon Katia, wearing her "winter coat".
Zargothrax: The sketch phase of Katia is unnaturally clean and non-sketchy to my eyes XD
Great drawing, I've seen significant improvement in your art since you joined!
