bluedraggy: I don't think I'm at Radian's level yet - but as long as I feel I'm getting better with every one of these, I'll keep plugging away. Of course, I see all the things I could have improved. But I'm also proud of it. I knew after 4 nights of working on it, I was going to get burnt out so I called it done last night. Honestly, I can't wait for the next one Sashimi! (water sucks, sky is practically a 10 year old's version. But I did like the dappling of the sun through the trees. Eyes of course. I dunno why but I simply like the way I do em. There's a certain furry porn artist that is immediately recognizable by his eye style. I wouldn't call mine "patented" because they're so simple, but I like em. And the bucket. That's primo bucket coloring right there.

My art teacher told me I would have won that too, but they gave it to someone else since I already won those others. Still pisses me off to this day. bluedraggy: I finished this yesterday and wanted to highlight it, but it's a pretty long-form fanfiction so I thought I'd just put up the first 'chapter' and link the rest at the bottom of it. Seems like the way to go for long ones like this. I'm relatively proud of it, even if I did use every cliche in the book and Dodger's personality isn't exactly canon. I also stole a LOT of Kaz-art for illustrations on the tumblr page. But hey, it's SFW! That's like, a first for me!

bluedraggy: Honestly, it's rare that I read one of these from start to finish, but this one I did and was quite glad of it! Might be our QW+KM fantasy, but the style is just right. She's about 17, Anscer came up with the ringlet hair, and her headcanon is she's "not gifted in the chest department". Not sure if posting Weird OCs alone is verboten here, but there's a couple Katias so it oughta slide too. She's doing a full-scale 'commission' with her for me, and Dodger's in it, so when it's done that should fly too.

bluedraggy: So in my Dodger fanfiction, I have a new character who just happened to step right out of Dodger's imagination. (The sexy thief-lady). As I mentioned, my daughter (who actually CAN draw) offered to do some lineart for me to color and add to the story. This is her first work, and I think it's pretty awesome, esp. given the rather vague nature of the original. To turn someone else's doodle into a fleshed out character is just magic to me.

Anyway, this is a scene where Dodger meets Veronica. I named he after Veronica Lake. I will leave it to you to discover who that is. She's not the Archie character FWIW.

I will admit right now that my Dodger character is not very close to Kaz' original. I just haven't got his sense of humor. Hopefully I have one of my own. Anyway, gaze in stunned silence at my daughter's work. And if you say anything critical I'll bite your head off. v_v

bluedraggy: Confession time. I'm writing a new SFW (mostly) fanfiction on Porcupine-Dodger at http://bdfanfic.tumblr.com. I've been blatantly stealing images from the Dodger: Break the Law till now because I can't draw.

But the story is getting pretty far afield of the events of the canon story. So I needed to find someone to draw some pictures for me. I didn't go far. My daughter, who here I'm calling Anscer, has long been a Prequel fan. (my fault). Don't worry, she's an adult. Yeah, I'm that old. Anyway, I showed her my fanfic project and she likes it and offered to draw for me.

She mostly does anime style things, but she tried her hand at Dodger in some sketches. This is the result. Yeah, she's good.

She's already done her first sketch for me that I'll post shortly besides this. I plan to color it, but before I screw it up I'd rather post it as is.

So this is a semi-ad for my fanfic Dodger: Continuation, and a semi-introduction of my daughter to the fanart booru.

Oh, if you're wondering why the hearts... She pointed out how radically different a picture is if you draw a heart beside it. Tis true!

bluedraggy: Naw, I'm with you realbboy. I actually did rotate the ones on her left arm at roughly shoulder level, but realized that still doesn't help since I'd have to rotate over every bend. If I go that route again, I'd use some hexagonal and staggered scales so they didn't form straight lines anyway. But I probably won't even try that again. Leather texture worked pretty well though.

bluedraggy: Surely you jest Sashimi! Not only did he write helpful and clearly knowledgeable criticism, but he posted what it could have looked like as well! I hate to think how long that took him to do - all for my benefit! Kind? I want to kiss his toes! (well, metaphorically speaking.) If you don't think I'm going to take his suggestions to heart, you're wrong. Not this one - it's over and done with for me. But damn that's a good revision! I said it was the best I could do at the time. Already I bet I could do better. I'm sure as hell not going to berate the guy who helped me do that!

And curves to inspire me.
